If you’re reading this it might be because you’re trying to decide on where to stay for your next visit to Walt Disney World Resort! I’m here to help you decide on one of the most important parts of your vacation, and thats what resort is best for you and your family! So, what are the pros and cons of Disney’s Moderate Resorts?

Let’s start with all the things I love about Disney’s Moderate Resorts!
“Just Right” Pricing!
Moderate resorts boast a price range that many find to be their sweet spot when it comes to their Disney Vacation! Not too expensive for their budget, while also getting to enjoy all the amenities that these resorts offer over Value resorts!
More Dining Options
Contrary to Value resorts, Moderate resorts have more dining options outside of the food court that include sit down dining options! The restaurants are typically themed to the resort, and offer a wider selection of food options!
More Transportation Options
Some Moderate resorts offer some other options for transportation to popular locations like the parks and Disney Springs! For example, Caribbean Beach offers the skyliner to Hollywood Studios and EPCOT, and Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter offer the boat to Disney Springs making it easy to go grab a bite to eat or shop!
Larger Rooms
Moderate resort rooms are typically larger than the Value resort rooms and include a double sink, making more space for families and belongings. The resort pools also have themed waterslides and hot tubs while the Value resorts feature a standard pool set up!

While there are so many things that might make a Moderate Resort the right choice for you, there are also some reasons they might not be. Now, let’s talk about the possible cons!
The properties are HUGE!
One of the biggest downsides to a Moderate Resort is how large the properties are! They require an internal bus loop that can add time to getting to and from the parks! It can also be a long walk from your room to the front of the resort where you can find food, the gift shop and other amenities.
Motel Style Entry Rooms
Most of the rooms at Moderate Resorts are going to have a motel style entry, meaning that you can expect to enter your room from the outdoors! This is not a major negative, but can be quite an inconvenience in the event of rain! It’s important to note that resorts like Caribbean beach do not have elevators to the second floor rooms, so if you need an accessible room, that’s something to consider!
Good Amenities, but not Great
While the Moderate resorts do offer great amenities opposed to Value resorts, if you want deluxe dining, rooms inside an air conditioned building, extra spacious resort rooms, and amenities like a firework view, you’ll need to stay at a Deluxe resort!
